Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) Advisory Board Membership

Expressions of interest are invited for membership of the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) Advisory Board.
The TIA Advisory Board is responsible for advising on the strategic direction of agricultural research, development and extension activities undertaken by TIA. It also contributes to and endorses TIA’s strategic plan.

The Board is chaired by the Secretary of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment (NRE). It comprises two representatives from NRE, two representatives from the University of Tasmania, and four members appointed by the Minister for Primary Industries and Water to represent the Tasmanian agriculture and food industries (‘industry members’).

As part of their role on the Board, industry members liaise closely with TIA Centre Leaders, providing an avenue for industry input and strengthening TIA’s close industry relationships across the agriculture and food value chain.

One industry member position is currently available. The terms of appointment will be for three (3) years. Industry members will be remunerated at a rate of $8,000 per annum.

TIA is a joint venture between the University of Tasmania and the Tasmanian Government. It specialises in research, development, extension and education to support prosperous, innovative and sustainable agricultural food industries in Tasmania.
