Sheep Connect Tasmania (SCT) is Australia Wool Innovation (AWI)‘s key investment in extension and communication for the Tasmanian sheep and wool industries. The program’s mission is to deliver value and facilitate ongoing change towards more profitable and sustainable sheep and wool businesses.
The program has achieved strong participation at field days and workshops, with more than 2,400 attendees at events during 2012–2019, and more than 90% of attendees making changes to their enterprise as a result of knowledge and/or skills gained.
AWI is a not for profit company that invests in research, development, adoption and marketing along the global supply chain for Australian wool. AWI invests in six, state-based extension and adoption networks to assist woolgrowers in accessing information they can use on-farm. Each of these networks is overseen by a Producer Advisory Panel (PAP), which provides direction for the network. The panel is made up of producers from all areas of the state. The SCT PAP succession plan is currently being implemented and therefore some vacancies are becoming available for producers to join this panel.
AWI is seeking expressions of interest from sheep and wool producers located in Tasmania who would like to join the SCT Producer Advisory Panel.
Expressions of Interest must be submitted by 31 July 2020.
