Future Orchards September Walk

Apple and pear growers are invited to take part in APAL's Tasmanian Spring Orchard Walk at Hansen Orchards and Home Hill Winery

The event will discuss options for workforce and tree management during a global pandemic. Growers will also receive updates on the stem clipping study, and take part in a tasting experiment exploring Gala eating quality.
 
Spring update session for pome fruit and stonefruit growers

FGT will be hosting its Spring Update Session to help the state's pome fruit and stonefruit growers plan and prepare for the season ahead.  This event will follow on from the Future Orchard's session and will feature a tasting session for new apple varieties led by Tom Frankcomb (APFIP) as well as updates from TIA about new research projects.
 
FGT staff will also facilitate a Q&A session to answer grower questions about industry issues including seasonal labour, COVID-19 safety management and airfreight availability.

The Our Farm Our Plan program is a fully online course that offers individually paced learning combined with regular zoom meetings. Over seven 1 hour sessions this course will help you think about where you are now, where you would like to be in the future and then step you through putting in place a plan to get to your dream. Course commences on October 29 with subsequent course dates being November 5, 12, 19, 26, December 3 and 10. Course numbers are limited.
