FarmPoint is an initiative of the Tasmanian State Government and is managed by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE).
Agriculture is a vital pillar of the Tasmanian economy, generating $1.47 billion in 2016-17. AgriVision 2050 has set the target to grow the farm gate value of the sector to $10 billion by 2050.
A key factor in achieving this goal is connecting producers with information that informs, educates and helps them to grow their businesses.
Since the inception of the internet in the early 1990’s the number of websites has continued to grow, with over 1.8 billion sites in 2018. To assist producers navigate through all this information, FarmPoint has identified a number of sites of benefit to Tasmanian producers and created links to connect producers directly with that information.
If you can’t find what you need our AgriGrowth Liaison Officers can answer your enquiries directly by phone or email, or can refer you to the best source of information within DPIPWE, or elsewhere.
