Creating partnerships to drive Tasmania’s primary industries

Supporting growth in agriculture and seafood is a key part of the Government’s long-term plan for building Tasmania’s future.

The 2017-18 State Budget committed $1.2 million for a new Strategic Industry Partnerships Program (SIPP), to support regional communities and businesses by investing in peak industry bodies to drive growth and innovation across the Tasmanian agri-food sector.

The first tranche of $917,000 is being distributed between eight peak industry bodies.  Projects range from supporting those in the industry to advance their technical and business management skills that can assist on farm production and develop markets, developing digital technologies to increase operational efficiencies, and ensuring good communication and collaboration between farmers or fishers to promote and grow their industry.
