Ashgrove Cheese is one of Tasmania’s iconic food manufacturers and the doubling of its butter production capacity reflects enormous confidence in Tasmania’s growing economy.
This upgrade has been supported with an $84,000 grant from the Tasmanian Jobs and Investment Fund, jointly funded by the Tasmanian and Australian Governments.
The full $256,000 upgrade by Ashgrove at its Elizabeth Town factory will help the business to meet the growing demand for its high value butter products. Ashgrove Cheese supplies Woolworths and Coles supermarkets with its Farmhouse and Herb and Garlic Butter ranges, in addition to independent supermarket and grocery stores right around Australia.
To date, 56 projects have been supported under the Tasmanian Jobs and Investment Fund, a total investment of some $92.6 million, creating 774 new jobs.
